Donation Quilts
As a charitable organization, every member is asked to donate two quilts every year. Our members donate quilts to a variety of local organizations, so just about any size or kind of quilt can find a home.

These quilts do not have to be heirloom quality! They can be tied, or pillowcase style (without binding), or fleece backed. You can choose to donate to a specific group, or it can go to the group most in need.

Following are the suggested quilt sizes for the organization we support:

Cocoon Shelter
Coordinator: Wendy Jenkins
Cocoon serves victims of domestic abuse in Wood County. Bed-sized quilts, approximately 71” x 96”, are requested. Any color is okay. [Size change made October 2024.]
Children’s Resource Center Coordinator: Wendy Jenkins
Baby — 36″ x 48″ or larger
Youth — 48” x 60”
Infants and Children’s — 36” x 48” or larger. They are used as floor quilts for the babies to play on, so think sturdy, washable, and colorful.
Youth sizes — 48” x 54” or larger. The center houses adolescent boys and girls. These quilts serve as part of their reward for successfully completing the program. They are used as lap or bed quilts. If making a “boy’s” quilt, please do not include pink or floral fabric.
Project Linus
Coordinator: Carol Ballard
These are given to children in need. Any size children’s quilt is needed, generally 26” x 48” or larger. Children’s colors.
Quilts of Compassion
Coordinator: Sheila Painter
New, all size quilts, and crocheted, knitted and fleece blankets for men, women and children delivered to hospital patients and for disaster relief. “Quilts may be quilted or tied; if tied, use pearl cotton only, not yarn. A quilt label with name, city and state is fine as recipients love to know who made their quilt.”
Quilts of Valor
Coordinator:
Follow guidelines at https://www.qovf.org/
Regional Coordinator for Quilts of Valor is Lacy Spurgeon, Wauseon.
St. Vincent’s Hospital — Children’s Palliative Care Unit
Coordinator: Calista Grogan
Preferred size: receiving blanket: 30″ x 36″. Most colors and sizes are useful.

Victory Center - Perrysburg Mercy Hospital
Coordinator: Sarah DeCola
Lap quilts “provide hope and support to cancer patients, survivors, and those closest to them.”
Wood County Hospital Cancer Center
Coordinater: Karen Glassford
Lap quilts, usually adult-sized – 48” x 60” or larger, serve patients receiving cancer therapy, for comfort and to keep warm during treatment.

We receive donation fabric from several organizations. There are larger pieces available to use as backing. Check with Karen Glassford or Cindy Huffman if you would like to use this donated fabric. If you are donating more than two quilts, and need batting, the Guild has some available.
